He was predeceased by: his wife Janet R. Makin (Gould); his parents, Herbert Makin and Josephine Makin (Smith); and his siblings, Herbert Makin, David Makin, Alice Boschetto, Doris Bourdais and Joyce Nevins.
He is survived by: his daughter Lynne P. Makin-Torres of Lawrence; his granddaughters, Serena Torres and Kelly Torres of Lawrence; and his siblings, Gerald Makin of Methuen, MA and Eleanor Seddon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
