He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Tarness and Labeebe Tarness (Mallen); and his brother Tom Tarness. He is survived by: his wife Georgette Tarness (Azzi); his children, Eleanor Tarness, Pauline Jesionowski (Mike Jesionowski) and Matthew Tarness (Melissa); and his grandchildren, McKenna, Amelia and Mason Jesionowski. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to St. Anthony's Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.
