He was predeceased by: his brother Peter Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Noreen Fratus; his daughter Jessica Murphy; his stepsons, Neil Fratus and Scott Fratus; his sister Elizabeth Murphy (Beth); his mother-in-law Lora Farley; his grandchildren, Kaylee Vicente of Nashua, NH, Shane Taylor, Trent Taylor of Exeter, RI, Nathan Fratus, Jesika Salisbury of Coventry, RI, Rylan, Alianna and Aubrey Fratus of Brockton, MA.; his niece Shauna Anderson; and his nephews, Ryan Antoniuc, Matthew Murphy and Nicholas Murphy. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.

He was an avid cyclist and rode in MS 200 bike marathons and other charity rides.
