He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeanette Bonvie and John C. Murphy; and his stepfather William Bonvie. He is survived by: his wife Maureen Louise Murphy; his children, Ryan Colford Murphy and Cailin Elizabeth Murphy; and his siblings, Sean, Maureen, Brian, Michael and Colleen.
