He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan Ruth Splaine (Salmonsen); his parents, Ruth Splaine, (Soper) and Maurice J. Splaine, Sr.; his son Maurice Splaine (Moe); his daughter-in-law Beth of Kingston; his son Kevin Splaine; his daughter-in-law Rana of South Boston; his daughter Karen Bowden; his son-in-law Jon of Halifax; and his grandchildren, Brian, Brendan, Jenna, Keith, Mackenzie and Maya. He was also cherished by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
