It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Martin Francis Gavin Jr. of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, who passed away on August 26, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Francis Gavin Sr. and Mary C. Gavin (Morris); his stepmother Agnes Gavin (Ewald); and his siblings, Mary McGrath of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, Noreen Kelley of Ohio and John J. Gavin of Dedham, Massachusetts..

He is survived by: his wife Mary V. Gavin (Fennelly); his son F. Chip Gavin (Andrea L. Krasker); his granddaughter Sophia May Krasker Gavin of Portland; and his uncle Marty.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home (199 Woodford St, Portland, ME 04103). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

The family requests no flowers please.
