He was predeceased by: his parents, Angelo Coppola and Margaret Coppola (Ronan); his son Paul Joseph Coppola; and his siblings, Mary Devine (Walter), Eleanor Brown and John Anthony Coppola (Martha Harley) of Boston.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Birmingham; his children, John Edward Coppola (Chorlette O'Neill) of Boston, Susanne Elyse Coppola (Christian Moen) of Newton and Maria Birmingham Coppola of Washington, DC; his grandchildren, Kevin, Claire, Brian Coppola, Gabriella, Sebastian, Sabrina Moen, Daniel, Andrea, Oliver and Xavier Tineo; and his sisters-in-law, Jeanne Hanson of Hingham and Peggy Moroney of Tempe. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Thomas Aquinas (95 South St, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Joe's name to Mission Grammar School.
