He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Durkin and Mary Durkin (Cunniff); and his siblings, Marie, Patricia and Richard (Barbara O'Connell).

He is survived by: his siblings, Maureen Earley (late William), Eileen Durkin, Pauline Durkin, Joseph Scannell and William Donovan. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or at stjude.org.
