He was predeceased by: his parents, Rabbi Samuel and Lillian Cooper (Bass). He is survived by: his wife Dr. Lori Adcock; his children, Thea Cooper, Rachel Cooper (Victor) and Daniel Cooper (Valerie); his former wife Dr. Lorna Bratton Cooper; his brothers, Joel (Janet) and Jonathan; and his pets, Max and Mollie.

Donations to either institution in Amiel's name would be greatly appreciated.
