She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmanuel Vernaci and Emmanuela Vernaci (Giammanco); her husband Captain William R. Fitts; her son Harold P. Fitts; her granddaughters, Catherine and Sandra Woodman; and her siblings, Antonina Scola, Isabel Vitale and Serafino Vernaci.
She is survived by: her children, William R. Fitts (Laurie) of Topsfield, Jane E. Woodman of Essex, Sandra Ciolino of Essex and Rosemary Burnham (Dennis) of Essex; her grandchildren, Ted, Tressa, Lily, Heidi Fitts, Nicole Parisi, Justine, Stephanie Boutchie, Cory, Billy, Sarah Burnham and McKenzie Woodman; and her great grandchildren, Kihanna, Chanelle, Alessandra, Cameron, William and Violet.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
