He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Clancy and Violet Clancy (Martin); his daughter Brenda Clancy; and his siblings, George and Dolores.

He is survived by: his wife Betty (Elizabeth); his children, Joseph Clancy, Jr. of Gloucester, Kevin Clancy (Dodie) of Haverhill, Ann Monroe (Ken) of Ipswich, Michael Clancy and Maria (Pam Amazeen) of Seabrook, NH; his grandchildren, Elisia Clancy (Jared Bell), Selina Clancy, Adam, Alex, Molly Clancy, Steven Monroe (Sabrina), Heather Phillips (Drew), Andrew, Connor Monroe, Shawn Clancy, Cassie, Joey, Allie Clancy, Bailey, Reagan and Abbie Amazeen; and his great grandchildren, Calen Estep, Esme and Ella Bell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
