He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Bates and Rena Bates (Ruby). He is survived by: his wife Ruby; his son Anothony; his siblings, Jackie, Jaqueline Van Hagen, Betty Lou and Louis Mastrangelo; his sons, David Bates and Anthony Bates (Renee) of Rockland; his grandchildren, Mathew, Tiffany, Chloe, Travis and David Jr.; his nieces and nephews, Cynthia San Julian (Gary) of Tracey, Ron Van Hagen (Juanita) of Modesto, Dianne Perry (Bob), Louis, Dana, David and Gary Mastrangelo of Ipswich; and his close friends, Dale Maxcy and Buzzy Brackett. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
