He was predeceased by: his parents, John Long and Bernice Long (Lanier); his son Patrick M. Long; and his brothers, John B. Long and Donald E. Long.
He is survived by: his children, James M. Long, Jr. of Springfield, Ryan C. Long of Texas, Kimberly E. Moore (Derek) of Greenwood, SC and Ainsley J. Long; his siblings, Patricia Danek of Springfield, Robert J. Long (Nancy) of Springfield and Paul C. Long (Janet) of East Longmeadow; his grandchildren, Vincent, Samantha, Parker, Sawyer and Ridge; his former wife Lynda Lemanis of Springfield; and his daughter-in-law Ashley Long of Chicopee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.
