He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gilchrist and Mary Gilchrist (Mansell); and his sister Patricia Dirrane. He is survived by: his wife Sandra A. Gilchrist (DeLano); his son Brendon E. Gilchrist (Jaclyn) of Berlin; his siblings, Paula Caligiuri, Kevin Gilchrist, Mary Ellen DeAngelis and Catherine "Katie" Gilchrist; and his grandson Caleb J. Gilchrist. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
