He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Amelia of Silva and Miguel Joaquim Ferreira of Matos. He is survived by: his wife Eugenia Fernandes Lage Matos; and his children, Amelia Matos (Daniel Pack), Daniel Matos (Teri Main), Mario Matos (Patti Matos) and Luiz Matos (Tracy Matos).
