She was predeceased by: her parents, Katharine McCormick (Merrill) and William McCormick. She is survived by: her children, Kim M. Hesse (John Martire) of Hopkinton and Stephen T. Hesse (Naoko Sugiyama) of Kokubunji, Japan.; her grandchildren, Kate, Tai Martire and Kye Hesse; her nephews, Peter and Nathaniel (Alice); her niece Megan; and her friends, Nancy Sayles Evarts of Garrison, NY and Jody Holmes of Wilton, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Doctors Without Borders, the Sierra Club and Smith College.
