With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard A. Houle Sr. of Holyoke, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 19, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Houle and Annette Houle (LeBlanc); his siblings, Roger, Normand and Florence Smith; and his son Matthew.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Houle (Pierson); his children, Richard Houle Jr., Michael Heisler, Frank Heisler and Heidi Heisler; his sister Janine Ferriter; his grandchildren, Richard J Houle Sr., Stefani Heisler, Matthew Heisler, Brooke Leary-Heisler, Kenneth Heisler, Mitchell Heisler, Collin Heisler, Ashley Strandjord and Emily Neblett; and his great grandchildren, Richard John, Andrew, Alexia, Xavier, Isaiah, Jace, Mason, Oliver and Evelyn. He is also survived by nine grandchildren & nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home (2049 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA 01040). A procession will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Our Lady of the Cross Church (Holy Cross Ave, Holyoke, MA 01040). A burial will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at the St. Rose de Lima Cemetery.
