He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Houle and Annette Houle (LeBlanc); his siblings, Roger, Normand and Florence Smith; and his son Matthew.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Houle (Pierson); his children, Richard Houle Jr. (Makell Crosby), Michael Heisler (Kristen), Frank Heisler (Lynn) and Heidi Heisler; his sister Janine Ferriter; his grandchildren, Richard J Houle Sr., Stefani Heisler, Matthew Heisler, Brooke Leary-Heisler, Kenneth Heisler, Mitchell Heisler, Collin Heisler, Ashley Strandjord and Emily Neblett; and his great grandchildren, Richard John, Andrew, Alexia, Xavier, Isaiah, Jace, Mason, Oliver and Evelyn. He is also survived by nine grandchildren & nine great-grandchildren.
