He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Moriarty and Mary Moriarty (Woods); his wife Kathryn Moriarty (Doyle); and his siblings, William "Billy" Moriarty, Maureen Moriarty and Margaret "Peggy" Fabbri.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Mercure of Quincy, MA, Maureen Hoffman of Redondo Beach, CA, John Moriarty Jr. of Milwaukee, WI, Patrick Moriarty of Ormond Beach, FL, Daniel Moriarty and Terrence Moriarty of Los Angeles, CA; and his brother Thomas "Tommy" Moriarty of Chicopee, MA.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
