He was predeceased by: his brother James of Plymouth, MA.. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Muther Burgess; his sons, James Burgess (Jennifer) of Holliston and Jacob Burgess (Julie) of Holliston; his grandchildren, Cole, Lilly, Abby and Colton; and his sisters, Lois Tougas (Bill) of Waltham and Janet Yurt of Wrentham.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Salvation Army, PO Box 311, Framingham, MA 01704.
