He was predeceased by: his father Giovanni Russo. He is survived by: his mother Antonia Russo (Mastantuoni) of Waltham; his wife Carrie Russo (Lathrop) of Holliston; his son Nicholas Russo of Holliston; his sister Tina Arcuri (Adriano) of Sudbury; his in-laws, John and Cynthia Lathrop of Newtonville; and his siblings-in-law, Josh Lathrop (Tracy) of Northboro, Deborah Lathrop of Waltham, Stephen Lathrop (Peggy) of Waltham and Daniel Lathrop (Brittany) of Robinson, TX.. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Val's memory to the Salvation Army, salvationarmyusa.org.
