He is survived by: his wife Joan Matus (Gooch) of Holliston; his children, Joseph Matus (Nora) of Bethesda, MD, Susan Helmrich (Jerry) of St. Leonard, MD, Jordana Savage (William) of Ashland, MA and Cara Littlefield (Earl) of Pembroke, MA.; his grandchildren, Eric Helmrich (Ashley) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Andrew Matus of Morgantown, WV, Gabrielle Matus of Bethesda, MD, Benjamin Savage of Ashland, MA and Charlotte Littlefield of Pembroke, MA; and his great grandchild Theodore Helmrich of Upper Marlboro, MD..
