He was predeceased by: his father Carl Burkley; and his wife Rose Marie Burkle of Holliston. He is survived by: his children, Linda Foley (Michael) of California, Susan Estrella (David) of Medway and Gordon Burkle of Uxbridge; and his grandchildren, Stacey, Marc, Gregory, Michael, Andrew, Adam and Ashley. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Holliston Senior Center, 150 Goulding St.
