He is survived by: his children, Tricia and Nick; his wife Joan; his sisters, Virginia Braden (Tim) and Heidi Heath; his mother Eleanor Nelson (Van Buren); his nephew Gibbons; and his parents-in-law, Dodd and Goldberg. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces.
