He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nawn and Grace Nawn (Davis); his brothers, Paul F. Nawn, Sr. and William Nawn; and his daughter-in-law Ann Figge Nawn.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor V. Nawn (Hughes); and his children, Mary Ellen Leslie (Doug), Sally Hartmann (Peter), Julie Boyle (Jay), Ann Marie Bango (Jim), Maureen Doyle (R. J.) and James W. Nawn, Jr.. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
