He was predeceased by: his brother Thomas Richard Mathews. He is survived by: his parents, Thomas Mathews and Darlene Chilson Mathews; his close friend Sherry Blake of Hinsdale; his son Anthony Mathews of Hinsdale; his stepdaughter Taylor Blake; and his sister Mariane Mathews of Hinsdale. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Anthony Mathews Scholarship fund for his son, in care of Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890.
