He was predeceased by: his spouse Mabel Karhu; and his friend Elizabeth Harvey. He is survived by: his children, Paul Karhu (Marcia) of Dennis and Joyce Wells of Weymouth; his siblings, Hilma Albrecht and Cherished; his grandchildren, Ken Matsumoto, Mio Cha, George Matsumoto (Samantha) of Calif and Kyoko Takanata of Calif; and his great grandchildren, Mika Cha, Kimi, Mya and Toby Matsumoto.
