We are sad to announce that on June 12, 2018, Rosemary E. Sugrue (Hingham, Massachusetts), born in Cambridge, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her spouse John E. Sugrue; and her children, Eileen Sugrue-McElearney (Paul McElearney) of Natick, John Sugrue of Charleston, SC, Christine Sugrue (Phred Lender) of San Francisco, CA, Edward Sugrue (Susan) of Fairfax, VA, Peter Sugrue (Lisa) of Hull, Brian Sugrue (Heather) of Milton and Christopher Sugrue (Lisa) of Weymouth.
Sister of the late William, John, Joseph, John Babe" Murphy and Ann Gallagher. Cherished Nana to Colin McElearney, Daniel, Nathan, Ava, Brady, Lyla and Aidan Sugrue. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rosemary was born and raised in Cambridge. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Department of Transportation for many years while raising her family. After retiring, Rosemary volunteered with the American Cancer Society arranging transportation for patients to and from their appointments. She was an avid Red Sox fan. The foundation of her life was her family and her faith, they were the cornerstone of all that was truly important to her. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving and cherished mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, 4-8 p.m. in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), Hingham. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Pauls Church, Hingham at 10 a.m. Burial in St. Pauls Cemetery, Hingham.
