He was predeceased by: his parents, Stuart Hiltz and Margaret Hiltz (Targ); and his brother Stuart "Slitzy" Hiltz of Falmouth. He is survived by: his wife Susan Hiltz (Sherman) of Hingham; his children, John R. Hiltz, Jr. of North Weymouth, Emily Smith (Kevin) of North Weymouth and Christopher Hiltz of Hingham; his brother James Hiltz of Wareham; his grandchildren, Cheyenne Smith of North Weymouth, Katelyn Smith of North Weymouth and Devin Hiltz of North Weymouth; his niece Susan Hiltz LeBlanc of Falmouth; and his mother-in-law Marion Sherman of Hingham. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
