We are sad to announce that on February 12, 2022, at the age of 81, John D Polhemus of Hingham, Massachusetts, born in Easton, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Augustus Polhemus and Helen Frace Polhemus; his wife Rita; and his sister Shirley Cochran. He is survived by: his sister Ellie Clarkson of Pacific Grove, CA; his daughters, Teresa Polhemus of Boston, Susan Langley of Weymouth, MA and Tina Hartnett (John) of Hingham, MA; and his grandchildren, Katie, Caroline and Tommy Hartnett. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Breast Oncology Program.

I went to an Peace Corps event a few years ago, before he moved to MA and we weren't able to get together because of his health. I have tried to keep up with our group over the years. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, which I just found out about. My sincerest sympathy to all of his family.”
