He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford J. Matzell and Berniece Shrader Matzell; and his brother Mark A. Matzell. He is survived by: his wife Carol Kresman Matzell; the father of his child Brook D. Matzell; his daughter Suzanne M. Moon of Scituate; and his siblings, Nancy S. Matzell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Thomas G. Matzell of Belmont.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Downing Funeral Cottage (21 Pond St, Hingham, MA 02043). A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Jimmy Fund (via the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute) are suggested.
