He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Moynihan and Helen M. Moynihan (Woodbury) of Haverhill, MA.. He is survived by: his former wife Mary Donovan; his wife Barbara Tarzia; his children, Joseph, Michael (Jeannie), Daniel (James), Jill (Joe Frost) and Mary (Andrew Edelstein); his grandchildren, Donovan, Lochlan, Ian and Ayla; his brother John Moynihan; and his godson John Patrick Moynihan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
