He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred LaPlante and Yvonne LaPlante (DeBlois); his son Dwayne E. LaPlante; and his siblings, Alfred, Robert LaPlante and Midge Dolf.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. LaPLante (Croston); his children, Lawrence LaPlante (Laurie) of Haverhill and Erika Davis of Haverhill; and his grandchildren, Jason LaPlante, Casey Strom (Ryan), Corey LaPlante, Nicholas DeVeau and Brianna Davis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
