He was predeceased by: his father William Lavigne; his stepfather Marcel Therrien; his father-in-law Robert Scharn, Sr.; and his brother-in-law Robert Scharn, Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Patricia Therrien (Arsenault) of Allenstown, NH; his wife Stacey Lavigne (Scharn) of Haverhill; his children, Scott Lavigne (Alie) of Berlin, MA, Todd Lavigne of Haverhill and Amber Lee (Brian) of Salem, NH; his grandchildren, Lillian Lavigne, Robert Lavigne and Tatum Lee; his stepmother Claire Lavigne of Arizona; his siblings, Richard (Donna Lavigne) of Sandown, NH, Tina (Troy Baker) of Salem, NH, Tara (Mark Todd) of Maine and Mark Lavigne of Arizona; his mother-in-law Billie Scharn of Haverhill; and his sisters-in-law, Coleen Scharn of Haverhill and Tammy (Tim) of Haverhill. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Donations in lieu of flowers are welcome to assist Jim's family in his final resting expenses and other unexpected financial burdens.

“I am very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He will be deeply missed by many. I met Jim in the summer of 2013 and we quickly became friends in addition to being coworkers. He taught me so much through his patience and dedication to helping others. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Jim in addition to spending time with him outside of work. We never ran out of things to talk about. Jim made a permanent impression on me and I will always be grateful for his friendship. Rest in peace, my friend. Bill Sproat”

“I was very saddened to hear about Jim passing. I first met Jim in 2000 when we worked together at Voltek. Jim was kind and truly would give you the shirt off his back. I continued to work with Jim for over 20 years. I would become a supplier of his. Jim was an expert in his field and I am going to miss my calls with him.
