He was predeceased by: his parents, Estelle O'Brien and William Thurston Sr.; his son Mark; his son-in-law Ron; and his stepchildren, Norman, Patty and Carrie.
He is survived by: his wife Ginny; his former wife Pat; his children, Christine, Janet and Bob; his stepchildren, Betsey, Jim, Chris and Susan; and his child Grampa. He is also survived by spouses, 29 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
