He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Hopbell and Agnes Hopbell (Fate) of Pittsburg, PA.. He is survived by: his wife Mary E. Hopbell (Dunleavy) of Hanson; and his son John R. Hopbell (Sharon R. Hopbell) of Whitman. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
