With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Claire Murphy of Hanson, Massachusetts, born in South Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 22, 2021 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alton Harry Swanson and Anna G.; her brother Ronald Swanson; her husband Charles J. Murphy (Skip); and her son Charles Murphy (Maureen).

She is survived by: her siblings, Richard and Elaine Connolly (Swanson); her daughters, Margaret Riley (late Joe) and Maureen Ennis (late Jimmy); her grandchildren, Jessica and Jason Bassett; her great grandchildren, Patrick, Joseph Riley and Laura Murphy; and also, Kellianne, Declan, Connor, Kristen Murphy, Joseph Vitale (JD) and James Ennis (Jae). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Donation in Claire's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
