He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Whiting and Flora Whiting (Bray); his spouse Shirley Whiting (Holt); and his sister Mildred Chetwynde. He is survived by: his children, David Whiting (Deborah) of Plympton, Dorinda Piro (Anthony "Jay", Jr.) of Norwell, Kenwood Whiting (Anne) of Hanover and Kurt Whiting (Jin Ling Zhang) of Hanover; his siblings, Cherine LaBarre of North Carolina, Marion "Maxine" Wheeler, Alden "Bud" Whiting, Cynthia Blakeman and Meredith Whiting; his grandchildren, Brittany Tarantello (Joseph) of Plymouth, Brandon Whiting (Mollie) of Harwich, Nicholas Piro (Haley Millen) of Weymouth, Matthew Piro of Norwell, Christopher Whiting (Eliza) of New York and Elizabeth Whiting McDowell (Dillon) of Watertown; and his great grandchildren, Nora Tarantello, Isla Tarantello and Wesley Whiting. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
