Norma A. Nickerson Obituary
Norma A. (Langley) Nickerson of Hamilton, 83, passed away peacefully on February 28th surrounded by her family. She was a long-time resident of Gloucester and the widow of Ronald A. Nickerson, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Gloucester on June 28, 1941, Norma graduated from Gloucester High School in 1959 and Lynn Burdett College in 1962. While her most treasured role was as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she also had a variety of passions and interests throughout her life. She enjoyed golf, road trips, shopping and spending time at Gloucester beaches. Most of all, she loved being both host and guest at family dinners, holidays and special life events.
Norma is survived by her three devoted children, Roberta Eason and her husband William Eason of Gloucester, Marianne Skellett of Hamilton, and Matthew Nickerson of Haverhill; her beloved grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and William Eason all of Gloucester, Paige Skellett of Hamilton, Natalie Nickerson of Pasadena, CA and great-granddaughter, Ila Eason of Haverhill. She is also survived by her brother, William Langley of Gloucester; sister, Jane Curcuru of Ipswich and her husband Anthony, sister-in-law, Kathleen Langley of Gloucester, and several nieces and nephews. Norma is predeceased by her brother, Douglas Langley; her parents, Douglas and Eleanor Langley; mother-in-law, Madeline Nickerson; father-in-law, Ernest Nickerson; brothers-in-law, John (Jack) and Stephen Nickerson and sister-in-law, Pauline Garrity and her husband Peter.
In keeping with Norma's wishes, there will be no visiting hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
