He was predeceased by: his grandson Alex Bleau; his siblings, Robert, John and Connie (Edward Cohan); and his parents, John R. McCarthy and Madelyn McCarthy (Swanton).
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte E. (Borggren) of Hamilton, MA; his children, Kevin J. McCarthy of Everett, MA, Patricia A. Bleau of Atlanta, GA, Susan E. McCarthy of Foothill Ranch, CA, George R. McCarthy, II of Hamilton, MA and Maureen A. Roy (Andy) of Missoula, MT.; his grandchildren, Katie, Charlotte Bleau of Atlanta, Madelyn and Thomas Roy of Missoula; and his sisters-in-law, Michelle McCarthy of Ft. Myers, FL and Priscilla McCarthy of Dracut, MA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
