He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Robert J. Downey Jr. of Marshfield, Michael J. Downey of Halifax and Christopher Downey of Plymouth; and his siblings, John Downey of Halifax, Paul Downey of Marshfield and Fred Downey of Halifax. He was also cherished by 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Roberts memory to Cranberry Hospice 36 Cordage Park Circle Suite 326 Plymouth, MA 02360.
