She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond L. Helems and Adwilda Helems (LaFond). She is survived by: her husband James D. Dickinson; her sister Marlene Childs; and her nieces, Laurie Ryan and Michelle Poudrier Moreau.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the ASPCA, honoring causes that were close to her heart.
