He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Hallowell and Elizabeth Hallowell (Hubbard); and his wife Mildred Hallowell (Woods). He is survived by: his sons, John R. Hallowell, Jr. (Patricia) of Morristown, N. J. and Robert "Hal" Hallowell (Donna) of Groveland; his grandchildren, Bobby, Stephanie, Dan (Aly) and Rachel (Thor); and his great grandchild Avery.
