He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Shute and Alice Shute; his daughter Melissa "Tish" Pease (Robert); and his siblings, Lawrence, Ted, Polly and Cynthia.
He is survived by: his wife Gail J. Goodrich (Goodrich); his children, Melinda Sullivan (Mark), Heidi Gamelin (Steven) and Todd Shute (Erin); his brothers, Robert Shute (Becky) and Merle "Skip" Strout (Muriel); his brother-in-law Bruce Goodrich (Sue); and his grandchildren, Abigail, Meagan, Chelsea, Danielle, Paul, Sarah, Jacob and Amanda.
