He is survived by: his brother Robert Slate (Jo-Ann); his wife Margaret Slate (Vanderpoel); his children, Ron Slate Jr. (Phyllis), Linda Hartbarger (Rick) and Kevin Slate (Victoria); his grandchildren, Brenda Jacques, Jeremy Hartbarger, Rebecca Knowles, Alison Slate, Brien Slate and Kyle Slate; and his great grandchildren, Anna, Ella, Mason and Caden.
