He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Rood and Elinor Rood (Ward); his siblings, Frederick Rood, Frank "Buster" Rood, Jr. and Joy Hitt; and his brother-in-law John Florek.
He is survived by: his wife Ann K. Rood (Labrie); his children, Sarah Rood of Granby, Austin Rood of Granby, Leslie Rood, Jr. (Sonia) of South Hadley, Timothy Rood (Lisa) of Easthampton and Bridget Doyle (Stephen) of South Hadley; his grandsons, Matthew Rood, Sean and Colin Doyle; his sister Jessica Florek of Westfield; his mother-in-law Eleanor L. Bullough (Martin) of Granby; his brother-in-law Joseph Labrie (Becky); his niece Madeleine of Granby; and his nephew Eric Bullough of South Hadley. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, friends.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Town of Granby Fire Department or Police Department, 259 East State Street, Granby, MA 01033.
