He was predeceased by: his siblings, John Magill and Mary Altomare; and his parents, Henry Magill and Agnes Magill (Diver). He is survived by: his wife Angela Magill (Galway); his children, Kevin Magill (Karen), Jim Magill Jr., Wendy Lopez, Carolyn Magill (Eli Aheto) and Kristina Andrezjewski (Rob); and his grandchildren, Kevin, Jillian, Colin, Ethan and Sophie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
