Alice Syrjala Obituary
We bid farewell to Alice Syrjala of Grafton, Massachusetts, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 6, 2025 at the age of 80. Alice touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Fitzgerald and Josephine "Joanie" Fitzgerald (O'Connor); and her sons, Brian Syrjala of Natick, MA and Michael Syrjala of Worcester, MA.. She is survived by: her husband Richard Syrjala of Grafton, MA.; her children, William Syrjala and Joanne "Jodi" Congdon (Syrjala); her son-in-law Chalmers Congdon; her grandchildren, Samuel Congdon and Katherine Congdon; her daughter-in-law Michelle Syrjala; and her granddaughters, Madeline and Allison Syrjala. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Roney Funeral Home (152 Worcester St, North Grafton, MA 01536). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (17 Waterville St, North Grafton, MA 01536). A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Phillip's Cemetery (74 Millbury St, Grafton, MA 01519).
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the St Jude's Children Research Hospital in Alice's memory.
