He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lawrence Durant and Marie Durant (Barnatchez); his wife Phyllis Brin; his children, Marie Durant (David Nanartonis) of Florence and James Durant (Luci Galo) of Goshen; his daughter-in-law Valerie Durant; his son Richard Durant Jr. A; and his sister Valerie Pegg. He was also cherished by 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.
