Timothy C. O'Shea Obituary
Timothy "Ted" O'Shea, 91, long standing resident of Gloucester passed peacefully on November 19, 2024.
He was born in Arlington, MA on October 12, 1933, son of the late Daniel and Anna O'Shea.
Ted enlisted in the Army after graduating high school and served during the Korean War. He continued his service in the Army Reserves for an additional 40 years, attaining the rank of Colonel.
After graduating from Merrimack College, he pursued a career in shipping which entailed several moves and a three-year residency in London, England.
Ted was dedicated to his family and is survived by his wife Catherine (Fleming), four children, Mark and wife Victoria, Steven, Catherine Rossa and her husband Richard, and Mary. Son Kevin predeceased him.
He was "Pops" to Michael, Timothy, Kevin and his wife Britni and Kelly. He was "Great Granddad" to Raegan and Rylie.
The eldest of seven Ted leaves three brothers, Robert and wife Marie, Daniel and wife Mary-Rita and William and wife Christine; Three sisters predeceased him – Mary leaving husband Joseph Corbett, Nancy, Janet leaving husband Richard.
Ted was an avid reader and had many interests. He was a member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company, First Corps Cadets, and Bass Rock's Golf Club. In addition to golf, he enjoyed traveling but was most happy when boating on the Annisquam River on the "Molly O."Graveside services will be held privately. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
