Susan M. Parsons Obituary

Susan M. Parsons, age 72, passed away on December 15, 2021, at her home in West Gloucester surrounded by her children after a short illness.

Sue was born in Chelsea on June 11, 1949, the oldest of five children of Joseph T. and Helen (Hederson) Hayes. She graduated from Gloucester High School in 1968 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Business Education from Salem State College in 1971. She married Lewis P. Parsons in 1972. They were married for 43 years until Lewie's death in 2016. Sue spent 10 years teaching 8th grade at St. Ann's School in Gloucester.

Sue's greatest joy in life was her family. As a natural caretaker, her favorite thing was babysitting her grandbabies. She also loved cooking for her family, knitting, researching family genealogy, listening to music, watching auto racing with Lewie, going to the beach, eating ice cream, and watching Jeopardy.

She is survived by her three children, Emily Gould and her husband Cary, Lauri, and Lewis Jr., all of Gloucester; her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Luke Gould; her siblings, John Hayes and his wife Patty of Delaware, Tim Hayes and his wife Marilyn, Mary Hayes, and Marcia Hayes of Rockport; dear friend and sister-in-law, Lucy Otieno and her husband John of Gloucester, and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a service at Dolliver's Cemetery, Lincoln St., West Gloucester on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 11:00 am.
